About the Destination

Kavala is a port city on the Thracian Sea, the second-largest city of northern Greece after Thessaloniki. It is known for its amphitheatre-like old town of Panagia rising to a Byzantine fortress, the imposing Kamares aqueduct, and a working harbour that serves as the main mainland gateway to the island of Thassos.

The drive from Thessaloniki Airport follows the Egnatia Odos eastbound the entire way, passing Asprovalta and the Strymonas delta before reaching the Kavala exits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the transfer from SKG to Kavala?

Around 110 minutes from Thessaloniki Airport in normal traffic, entirely on the Egnatia Odos motorway.

Can you drop us at the Kavala port for the Thassos ferry?

Yes. We frequently drop at the Kavala harbour for the Thassos ferry. Note that most Thassos ferries also leave from Keramoti, which is closer — we can advise which port suits your crossing.

Can you drop us in the old town of Panagia?

Yes, though the upper old town has narrow lanes. We drop as close as the vehicle allows and your driver will advise.

Do you provide return transfers?

Yes. Pickup is typically 2.5 to 3 hours before international departures, given the eastern distance.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track all flights in real time. Your driver adjusts pickup automatically and waits in arrivals at no extra charge.

Are tolls and parking included?

Yes. All Egnatia Odos tolls plus airport parking are arranged by us with nothing to pay on the day.
